Mahmoud Altaf

I'm a self-taught composer and a graduate Audio Engineer from SAE Institute in Dubai, U.A.E. I've self-studied music theory and practiced composition ever since I was 18.

I've always been fascinated by how music can influence and alter our moods through its melodic and harmonic content, as well as its orchestration. I've been inspired by scores like "The Mummy", "E.T.", "Star Wars", "Jurassic Park", "Edward Scissorhands", "Dragonheart", "Braveheart" only to name a few.

As a little boy, I used to play my favourite melodies from my favourite movies and shows on my little Casio, and it wasn't until I was 17 that I've started composing my own music. It was then that I've realised that film scoring is what I'd like to do for a living. It is the purpose behind the music that has always been what I thought was the winning element, it was the reason behind the emotional content that the music held.
